Canadian artist Labrona is best known for using Freight Trains as his canvas. For him, “A train yard is like a forever-changing outdoor art gallery.” Indeed, he feels an almost mystical connection with those big rumbling trains that still carry with them the aura of history and myth as they move across the vast open spaces of North America. If he could fly there in two hours or travel by freight and arrive there in two days, well… he’ll see you in a couple of days. "I’m addicted. I love the rush of painting trains. Pulling of a really nice drawing in a limited time. I’m not much of a talker so I use my art as my voice. I send my thoughts and emotions on to the railways for people to see..." Yet his pieces are no ordinary tags or throw-ups on the move. Using a highly distinctive style reminiscent of German Expressionism, with hints of Cubism thrown in for good measure, Labrona creates stylised faces and angular human shapes and favours oil sticks over more traditional grafitti methods. These images have been showcased in "Graffiti World" by Nicholas Ganz & Tristan Manco and exhibited all over the world.
