•Flickr "... urban impressionist finding beauty in decaying posters and graffiti" The Independent Dec 2008 Holly’s work is deeply informed by her London roots. From an early age, Holly was drawn to the city’s street culture, there finding inspiration in a creative community of likeminded people. These influences, together with the visual presence of the city itself are evident in the raw and vigorous abstract paintings she creates to reflect the part it plays in her conscious and subconscious life. Her work is edgy, felt and bears a palpable sense of the rusting, ageing walls that are a feature of inner city spaces everywhere. For her research, Holly has travelled the world extensively, photographing street art, graffiti, derelict walls, alleys and doorways – all of which find their abstracted way back into her work as themes and motifs of urban living. Holly has exhibited in galleries from London to Guatemala and has been commissioned by private clients internationally.
