A founding member of the East German spray crew Ma’Claim, Case quickly established a new style in the international Graffiti scene. Alongside fellow Ma’Claim members, Tasso and Akut (of Herakut), case developed a spraying technique akin to photorealist painting. case’s work confronts human aesthetics, challenging received ideas and standard notions of physical beauty and the rigid modern paradigm of tody’s body fascism. His motifs are computer generated from his own high-res photography, creating a single human body from different photos and composite limbs that he then spray paints onto canvas. In doing so, case creates manipulated, destroyed and re-imagined hybrid beings that seem to be at once glossily hyper-realist and yet at the same time drawn from a dark subconscious view of the self. The effect is a troubling assault on preconceived ideas.
